Die Verboten
2007
Deewee

Sequencers and swinging, dancing Motorik. Plucked bass strings, melodies picked out on milk bottles, rhythm guitar scratches, and the sleepy arpeggio from that Harvey “Ibiza” track. Popping machines, rising and falling trumpeting, buzzing synth riffs, church organs and dynamite drums. Kraftwerk`s “Vitamin”. Invisible Inc.`s extended family (Poncho Brothers, Higamos Hogamos, Sordid Sound System). Fuckbuttons without the overload. Evolving one-take Kosmische jams on Dr Who`s TARDIS in a call to and from the stars.

Die Verboten are Soulwax / 2ManyDJs, Riton and Palace Clothing`s Fergadelic (on those drums). Their last release was a single-sided, etched, super limited 12 recorded “Live In Eivissa” which came in a Fergadelic-designed fold out pyramid sleeve and fetches around 100GBP. That was six years ago. The sessions actually took place in 2007 and their follow up rescues more of the recordings as a 2x12 LP which was released on Monday on Soulwax`s new label Deewee.
