Fuga Ronto made a few really brilliant records and remixes and then, well, they didn't do much more. Sort of like one of those Studio *the band) situations where people make some genius records and then for whatever reason they don't do much more. Fuga's two EP's, 'Invisible Escape' and 'Greatest Treasure', were just superb pieces of work for me. They were melodic and moving and atmospheric with vocals done exactly as they should be when they were used.

It's been ten years since they originally released their first EP 'Invisible Escape' with their second EP 'Greatest Treasure' following years later in 2021. So it seems timely that they are putting them together in one package which will be released early September. Honestly just press play on 'L'Uomo Invisible' and sit in your time machine for a minute. It is such a brilliant record...

Fuga Ronto are Tobias Schweizer and Ron Shiller. For me they are a band that really could have done some damage as they sort of sat in that almost Compass Point space of music that many people enjoy, not just people from one scene. What's great to hear, going back through the music, is that it was, and is, timeless. This was always the thought back then that this music will really stand up well in the coming years but it really has done. It just sounds like it went through an actual desk and compressors and outboard gear. It has that slightly dusty feel. Not in a crackly record way but in a way that feels right.

The music lands somewhere between synth pop, island music, dub, balearic beat, reggae (80s) and a light (the lightest) touch of disco. There are two new exclusive tracks from their sessions , "One Thing Leads To Another" and "Deconstruction Again". To complete the package, as they say, "Selected tracks have been remastered, preserving the warmth and character of the original productions while enhancing their clarity. An exclusive dub version of "Greatest Treasure" and a printed insert featuring archival studio photographs complete the package."

If you don't own these records I highly recommend picking them up as it's music for all occasions and is just a fine body of work. I hope they come back with more down the line. Nice.
