Tanner Matt brings the ruckus. Trippy house and hazy techno wafting out of Vancouver, BC. If you're new to the party, check his classic LP on Future Times as Hashman Deejay - it's wicked in all the right ways, from melancholy dubbed out Soul II Soul beats, grimy tech house, ethereal deepness. A proper album. More recently he's been active putting out stuff on his 0 label--dreamy dubby techno business that really hits. Each record adorned with a stamp of a printed circuit, faded on the flip. Nice. Check the Bandcamp here.

Selfless is a brilliant head trip. Swirling pads ebb and flow, dubbed out, telegraphed beats, deepness. It's music to really get inside through repeated listening. I've had the tentacles of "eBase" wrapped around my brain for a week now.

Rinsing Selfless the past few weeks brought to mind an experience I had this fall when Vladimir Ivkovic played a party in our town - the first few hours of his set were this utterly beguiling heady amalgamation--hypnotic, intoxicating music swirling out of the sound system. Selfless has that vibe, it's a real journey all the way through.

Selfless is out now from the Mood Hut gang.
