A decade under the belt means time for a quick progress check for Moxie and her On Loop label. Popping out in the form of (what else) a ten track compilation that gives newbies and experts alike a tasty selection to get stuck into. CC:Disco and Manuel Darquart’s ‘Don't You Want My Love’ provides a spacious and slightly glittery introduction. Finger clicking good, with added bounce. Tip Toes does nothing of the sort, jacking into view via some clipped vocal grabs and a tight beat. K-Lone stretches the definition of house in his own inimitable direction via ‘iluvu’ with an intricate drum pattern and nagging keyboard hook. Label fave, Retromigration, folds in the classic house influences to a proper roller with ‘BLT’. Big. Loose. Tune.

Laidlaw keeps the pressure high on the FX-laden, high hat funfest, with the slightly misleading title, that is ‘house of dub’. T. Jacques drops some vocal snippets over more jacking hits from the drum. And speaking of drums, Running Hot spray out the bongos for more pressure on ‘Take You There’, slipping in a little house history along the way. Man of the moment Isaac Carter makes a customary appearance with some bitmap inflected deepness that evolves into something a little harder and techy on ‘Natural High’. Rounding out, Midas Field go all in with the peaking ‘Get Loose’ before Make A Dance do their thing on closer ‘Broekie Lace Dub’ it’s a healthy head rush of rhythm and sound, and a love chant for today. Take your pick, it’s hard to see any of these not working a dancefloor. Vol.2 is en route too.
