The third release from Bar Part Time (catch up HERE and HERE) finds fellow Love Symptom Ben Christensen on an electro tip. The title track is brilliant jaunty electro--think Man Parrish, Interboro Rhythm Team with a dash of YMO playfulness and you're some of the way there. It's got that skittish, spacey vibe with a dash of humour sorely needed these days.
"Music Remembers" is a funky 808-driven workout--piano chords and speedy vocals that will put a smile on your face.
B-side is a mood change. "Whose Water" laces pitched-down disco guitar into lush electronics for a sublime downtempo leftfield workout.
"New Sun" was described in the press kit as "psychedelic macarena" and yeah, you can kinda hear it. Perhaps the most dancey cut of the EP it's a cosmic chugger hovering around 100 bpm. Really nice.
Here Come the Lions is out today 27-March from BPT on Bandcamp HERE
